-Why Donate-

Organic farming is key to the health, wellness and beauty of our community. Stone Coop Farm's mission has always been to grow incredible organic produce and to share our knowledge with our community and other farmers.  In 2018, with mounting pressure to sell our land to pay off loans, we changed Stone Coop Farm to a non-profit working farm and learning center so that we can continue to make positive changes in our community and the future of farming.
We need  $150,000 to save our farm.
You can help us reach that goal. Make a tax deductible donation and make a difference today.

“ I knew I needed to be able to make a living while satisfying my soul.”

Other great reasons to support Stone Coop Farm

Organic, local produce is better for you – and the planet
  • Produce that is local and organic is allowed to ripen on the plant, and harvested when antioxidants, nutrients and flavor are often at their peak.
  • Studies estimate that conventionally sourced produce in the US travels over 1,500 miles from farm to plate, 1 losing nutrients and creating plenty of pollution along the way.
When we succeed, so does the local economy
  • Our produce is featured by local restaurants and chefs like Salt & Saffron, La Vita Bistro, Go Taco, Seldon Standard and Gather.
  • Stone Coop fruits and vegetables are available for sale at local markets like Busch’s, Grow Eastern Market, Greener Pastures and others.
  • We proudly partner with eco-friendly farms and businesses like Ann Arbor Seed Co, GCC Organics, Da Buzz honey, Full Circle Organic Farm, Rising Vitality Farm and others.
We offer support, education and nourishment to the community
  • Sponsorship of annual scholarships.
  • Cooking classes, events, workshops, farm tours, working share opportunities and local school programs that reach more than 500 students/year.
  • Partnerships with Michigan State University, Livingston County Hunger Council, Local Harvest and others.

The US desperately needs more organic farmers
  • Stone Coop proudly sponsors farmers to attend the Organic Farmer Training Program at Michigan State University.
  • Since 2015, nine of our farmers have continued their organic farming journeys.
  • US farmers are struggling, with 75% making less than $50,000/year2. Not only do we teach farmers to farm; we teach them to be successful business owners.
