Mission Not Impossible

We did it!  We have finally written our tag line and mission for the farm.  It was a long thoughtful process and a lot of people contributed.  In fact, we had a working share meeting last weekend to get everyone up to speed on what’s going on at the farm so we decided to do a brainstorming session with them.  It blows my mind how many fantastic people are part of Stone Coop Farm!  Our working share members had some wonderful ideas and I left the meeting FULL of energy and enthusiasm.  And it was not just a wow I feel great this afternoon, it was a HOLY COW I am still riding high on their positive energy a whole week later!  A huge thanks goes to all of you that contributed.
 
Friendly Farmers, Caring Consumers
 
At Stone Coop Farm we are friends with the earth and all its inhabitants down to the microorganisms in our soil.  We are dedicated to being better stewards of the land and sharing our knowledge with others. Stone Coop Farm is a neighborhood farm supported by folks that care about the long term health of our planet and future generations.

Here’s my update on my January Goals:
  1. Start each day with 15 minutes smiling in silence – I’m doing great with this. I love starting my day with a smile.
  2. Clearly identify my brand and translate that to the Stone Coop Farm (SCF) brand – Using the Johari’s Window, the top 5 adjective’s used to describe me were:  knowledgeable, energetic caring, friendly and intelligent.  Translating these adjectives to develop the farm’s brand allowed me to be true to myself and my business.
  3. Have brainstorming sessions with staff and members about our brand, mission, tagline, and ideas for improved or new revenue sources. – As I mentioned above, super successful brainstorming sessions with staff and members.  We also got several new ideas for revenue sources.
  4. Review and revise SCF descriptors – Done.  This one-page sheet is a great reference when we write newsletters, blogs and all our other communications.
  5. Write a mission, vision and tag line for SCF – Done!
  6. Create a new SCF brochure with a “call to action” – We are pushing this back to February since we just finished the mission and tag line. Now we can focus on what we want people to do when they see our brochure, not just list facts about the farm.
  7. Embrace social media and update our website, Facebook, and localharvest.com with our brand and other relevant information. Ask our members to submit a review. – Website updated and Social media sites will be updated by next week.  I have asked our working share members for a review and I will be asking others. 
  8. Clear off my desk and KEEP it uncluttered – OK complete failure here.  Now a February goal.
  9. Notice something daily that inspires awe. – When I originally set up this goal I thought this would be things in nature.  Yes, there are many natural wonders that inspire awe, but I have been surprised that now that I am looking for it, I am seeing it daily in people. Their kindness, encouragement, smiles and so many other things inspire me to be a more joyful person.  Mankind is good – we just need to pay attention and see it.
