In the Dirt Beginner Gardening
Ages 10 and up
Time 2:30-4:00 (end time will change to 4:30 when student markets start)

Part 1: In this class you will learn how to plan, plant, and manage a successful organic garden with hands on experience tending the class garden. Some of the topics we will cover are companion planting, soil health, and mulching.
Part 2: In this class you will learn how to plan, plant, and manage a successful organic garden with hands on experience tending the class garden. Some of the topics we will cover are tending and caring for a garden, harvesting, planting for a fall garden, and starting our market booth.
Part 3: In this class we will continue our market booth and harvesting as well as learn about cover crops and putting the garden to bed and will end with a harvest festival.
You will go home with all the knowledge needed to repeat what you've learned. I recommend that you wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, boots, and a hat. Make sure you wear weather appropriate clothes and bring a water bottle.
Class needs a minimum of 5 students to run with a maximum of 20
Price includes $10 materials fee
*This is a three part class intended to take the students from planning and caring for a garden through harvesting and selling produce, to winter cover crops and putting the garden to bed.
**The Nature Journaling class is recommended as a supplement to this class. The nature journal and garden journals can be combined to make a more comprehensive garden journal.
